It was affectionately known as the Moon Buggy. It was used on three of the American Apollo missions (15, 16, 17), during 1971 and 1972. Powered by just two silver oxide batteries, Apollo 17 travelled a distance of 35.74 km (22.21miles) across the surface of the Moon.
