On the morning of July 21, 2002, by the riverbank bordering the Paradis campground, the lifeless body of Roger Brûlé, a retired notary and promoter of a mini hydroelectric power plant, was found. The victim seems to have been struck on the head with a blunt object. The body is half-submerged in the water.
Pinned to the back of the victim was a small square of white fabric, and in the pocket of his shirt, a carefully folded star map was discovered.
The gruesome discovery was made by two campers, Michel Martel and Antoine Lacasse, around 5:45 am.
Wanting to expedite the process and assist the police in their investigation, Madeleine Gélinas (the Owner) summons all the campers present at the party held the previous evening to collectively discover who committed this dreadful crime.
