The Castles of Burgundy is a tile-placement game set in the Burgundy region of medieval France.
Each player takes the role of an aristocrat, initially controlling a small dominion. As they play, they aim to build powerful settlements and castles, trade along the river, exploit silver mines and use the knowledge of travellers.
The game is played in five phases, each consisting of five rounds, before the final dice are rolled.
The 2019 edition of Châteaux de Bourgogne includes eleven expansions, ten of which were previously published as promotional items and one new one in this version.
