Iki (Bil)

$79.99
IKI takes place in Edo during the period of the same name (1603-1868). Edo was the name of Tokyo at the time.

Along the main street of Nihonbashi, numerous merchants with a variety of activities set up their stalls and attract crowds of customers. Not far from the main street is a fish market, where boats bring in their cargoes and the calls of buyers and sellers echo.

The houses around the main street, known as Nagaya, were home to craftsmen and merchants, whose diverse skills were essential to the daily lives of Edo's inhabitants. According to estimates, there are between 700 and 800 different trades in Edo: fan and lantern makers, tatami weavers, printmakers, hawkers, tempura and sushi stalls, geishas, kabuki actors and many more are represented in IKI in the form of cards.

How can you win?
Live a whole year in Edo and try to become the best Edokko, "the child of Edo", by ensuring the well-being and prosperity of the city and its inhabitants. Recruit characters from different trades, get them to work in the Nihonbashi high street and build up their experience until they retire.

The winner is the Edokko who has accumulated the most IKI, a philosophical concept from the Edo period considered to be an ideal way of life.
