Frosthaven tells the story of a small outpost located far to the north of the capital city of White Oak, an outpost that barely survives harsh weather conditions and invasions from forces known and unknown. There, a group of mercenaries at the end of their tether will help bring this colony back from the brink of destruction. Not only will they have to contend with the elements, but also with other, far more dangerous threats in this unforgiving cold. The Algox, taller and more yetis-like cousins of the Inox, attack from the mountains, the Lurkers arrive from the North Sea and there are rumours of machines roaming the frozen expanses of their own accord. The group of mercenaries must face up to all these perils, and perhaps, in the process, make peace with these new races so that they can work together against even more sinister forces.

Frosthaven is an independent adventure from the designer and publisher of Gloomhaven, featuring sixteen new characters, three new races, over twenty new enemies, over a hundred new items and a new campaign of 100 scenarios. Characters and items from Gloomhaven will be usable in Frosthaven, and vice versa.

In addition to the familiar combat mechanics of Gloomhaven, Frosthaven will offer much more to do outside of combat, including a number of mysteries to solve, a system of seasonal events to experience, and player control over the expansion of this dilapidated village, with each new building offering new ways to progress.
