Be voracious, spread out... Take control of the forest's resources!
You play as Vorax extensio (VOREX), an invasive carnivorous plant. Feeding on fungi, insects and water, your objective is to spread rapidly, competing for control of strategic locations in the forest, which you expand as the game progresses.
Vorex's rules are very easy to learn, but the game offers the feel of a strategy game in a very short playing time, bringing a strong spatial dimension to a simple game engine.
On their turn, players perform two actions, choosing from 3 possibilities:
- Expand the board by placing forest tiles;
- Collect the resources produced by their flowers on the board;
- Place a new flower on the board, paying the required price - they can benefit from a discount if it's next to another of their flowers. Depending on where the flower is placed, it may produce additional resources for the rest of the game, or offer a free action immediately.
The game ends when a player places his 13th flower. Each game offers different scoring criteria, guaranteeing excellent replay value.
You'll need to set up a sufficient production engine, block other players, build the board according to your objectives and place your flowers wisely to win a game of Vorex.
